Celebration of 2009 Physics Student Graduations and Prizes

Salford Physics Student Graduations

The formal award of degrees to our graduating physics students took place this week on Wednesday 15th July at the Lowry Theatre in Salford Quays. The video footage of the Graduation Ceremonies is expected to appear on the University Graduation Website in due course. Physics undergraduate students participated in Ceremony 5 (that started at 1:15pm), while postgraduate student awards were made in Ceremony 6 (which began at 4:15pm).

Our roving physics photographer managed to catch up with some of our graduating students outside of the Lowry after the 1:15pm Ceremony. The selection of pictures here are taken from this time - click any of the pictures to see a larger image.

Continuing Success of Salford Physics Degree Access Programmes

We are tremendously proud of the achievements of all of our students, including those that entered our programmes through one of our highly-successful access routes - such as Physics with a Foundation Year. This year, we highlight the outstanding achievements of: Marcos Caro (who earned the highest mark of all our graduating students), Abi Heyes (who gained highest marks of all physics students prior to graduation), and Amy Gandy (who was awarded her PhD in Ceremony number 6 this week).
