All students on full-time degree courses within the School can elect to undertake a placement between the second and final years of their course.

It is probably the best enhancement that you can give your degree:
- An opportunity to apply the knowledge that you have gained at the University;
- Witness the application of modern techniques to your field of interest;
- Obtain a better understanding of the role of some of the theory that you have been taught;
- Experience working for an organisation;
- Discuss your future career with people established within the industry;
- Probably consider the possibility of working for the same organisation after you have graduated. A large proportion of students undertaking a placement with a company are employed by that company after they have graduated.
These, and probably others, are some of the virtues of taking up a placement. In addition you will be paid a salary.
You can read about some of our previous students' placement experience and find out more about undergraduate placements on the careers and employability website.
