EPSRC £345,887.00 (2010) - Challenging established rules for train control through a fault tolerance approach

The main objective of this project is to develop a fault tolerant approach to the design and operation of the rail network. The dynamic routing using the new Swarm Intelligence technique, witch combines multi-objective optimisation with safety/risk management.developed [Nefti11], will be used.

EPSRC - Academic fellowship - S.Nefti (PI £125,000) (2004)

The portal for projects and communities in the virtual organisation domain (VE-Forum)

This project was an instrument to incubate a self-sustaining community, which is based on the principles of voluntary professional associations and academic communities. The role of the consortium is to activate the community and facilitate self-organisation. My deliverable was the use of fuzzy clustering for documents categorization.

ASTREA - S.Nefti (PI £30,000) (2008)

This project has been carried out as a part of ASTRAEA T7 (Autonomous Systems Technology Related Airborne Evaluation and Assessment). This is a key UK programme (£32 million) which aims to strengthen further the UK's pedigree in UAV technology. My new clustering method (IEEE trans on FS) has been used to categorize test cases for the handling of fuel system failure events within an open architecture.

CogSys'08 DC - S.Nefti (PI £30,000) (2008)

Funding for organizing the European workshop on cognitive systems, this was considered as an official event of the European Network for the Advancement of Artificial Cognitive Systems http://www.eucognition.org/official.htm.

NovelQ FP6 - Novel processing methods for the production and distribution of high quality and safe foods, EC (Framework) £71,725.00

The main objective of this EU-funded Integrated Project 'NovelQ' is to develop and successfully demonstrate eco-friendly novel processing technologies.
