Call for Papers

UNTF 2010 took place at Salford University from 14th to 16th April 2010. The call for papers is now closed.

This conference offers an accessible and friendly forum for Masters, PhD and EngD students to make presentations about their research and their latest results. The conference will bring together academic and industrial specialists to put the research in context. It will provide an opportunity to strengthen the network of UK-based nuclear researchers and will, incidentally, provide our sponsors with an informal opportunity to discuss possible careers in the industry with the current cohort of post-graduate researchers. Each presenting student will receive a £50 subsidy towards the cost of the conference from the Nuclear Institute. The best presentation will receive a prize, also from the Nuclear Institute followed by its publication as a paper in the Institute's journal, Nuclear Future.

Suggested Themes

  • Waste and decommissioning
  • Radiochemistry and radiation science
  • Current and future reactor design
  • Characterisation and imaging of materials in nuclear applications
  • Radiation damage: experimental determination and modelling
  • Environmental and social impact
  • Nuclear technology policy

Proposals for co-sponsorship of the conference will be welcome. Space for displays and other opportunities for publicity will be made available.
