The Science of Screams

This short film from Salford Science Spotlight 11 shows people, including Manchester band Kid British, record screams for the public to vote on as part of an experiment at Manchester Science Festival. Staff from Salford University's acoustics department will describe some of the science behind screaming — including which properties of sounds can help explain why we find some screams scarier than others.
