In addition to your completed postgraduate research application form, you may also need to submit a research proposal outlining your proposed topic of study. You can see what areas of research are carried out in the School and find out about potential supervisors working in your area of interest. Contact the School's research admissions co-ordinator for further guidance.
When you have completed your application and research proposal they should be sent to your Research Admissions Co-ordinator along with two academic references, copies of academic certificates (please do not send originals) and, for international students, proof of your English language competency and a copy of the ID page of your passport.
You can view information about social activities arranged by the Salford Postgraduate Association to help you get to know other research students.
You should have your supporting documents ready, in electronic format, before you begin the on-line application, so that these may be uploaded as part of the application. Such documents may include: certificates, transcripts, English language tests and research proposals. You will be prompted to attach these throughout the online application.
To get started, you will first need to create an account. You will then receive an email with a PIN and password so that you can complete your application in stages as and when convenient. Your application will be transmitted through a secure server and kept confidential until submitted.
There are application instructions at the beginning of the form, and also help text throughout the application. You will receive an acknowledgement email to confirm that it has been received and will then be available for consideration by relevant staff within the Research Centres.
If you have any questions or wish to discuss your application, please get in touch.
